Welcome
to
a North-central Florida INAFA Flute Circle |
Our regular meeting date is the third Tuesday of each month. Watch this page for any change in the schedule.
Coming together to help one another achieve a greater understanding of the Native American flute by sharing experiences, asking questions and when the good times are really rolling, by making a little music.
Woodland Echoes flute circle meetings are commonly held at Trombone Charley's cafe (map and driving directions) in High Springs, Florida. Gatherings are held on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Circle members will be notified of exceptions to this schedule by e-mail. Woodland Echoes is recognized by the International Native American Flute Association.
If you think you might be somewhat interested or are just a little curious, please feel free to visit the circle for a meeting or two. There are absolutley no costs associated with membership. Current members include beginners and a few folks who can really make beautiful music. Some are interested in learning more about making their own flutes and a few are accomplished flute makers. Others are content to admire the work someone else has done. A few people can read traditional sheet music but most cannot. Everyone appreciates each other's accomplishments and most of us are trying to avoid being so bashful about playing. One thing appears to be true for certain: a positive attitude combined with a willingness to share and learn, are all that is really needed to appreciate the Native American flute. Well .. having a flute helps a little but isn't necessarily required.
